How can we help you in school?
We want to make our school the best place for you to learn and have fun.
At Monkseaton Middle School, we are committed to providing you with a safe, and supportive environment where every pupil can excel, succeed and thrive.
Pastoral Care
We have a dedicated member of staff who ensures you feel valued, listened to, and supported. Regular check-ins, mentoring sessions, and well-being activities are part of our daily routine to promote your emotional health and resilience. There is always an adult in school that you can speak to if you are worried about anything.
Academic Support
We offer academic support to meet all the different learning needs of our pupils. You will be taught in your form class and each day you will spend the first 30 minutes with your Form Tutor, they will get to know you very well. Your Form Tutor is the first point of contact for any concerns or issues you may have. Each morning, tutorial time is spent supporting with reading, wellbeing or attending assemblies.
Houses
The year groups are split into three houses: Celts, Romans and Vikings. As well as fostering healthy competition throughout the year for our termly sports and reading challenges, the Houses promote a sense of teamwork and identity across the year groups. You will collect House points and may be House winners at the end of a half term. You could also be awarded Golden Postcards when you demonstrate an aspect of the school ethos: We Excel, We Succeed and We Thrive.
Extra-curricular clubs
From arts and crafts to science and technology, we have lots of after-school clubs to help you complete your homework, learn a new skill or try a sporting activity. Our clubs change each half term, there is something to suit everyone.
