Extra-Curricular information

Our school provides a diverse array of extra-curricular activities throughout the year, fostering additional learning and key skill development. Equally important is the chance to have fun, engage in new activities, and meet new people!

All our clubs are free to attend, including our Breakfast Club from 8 am and our after-school Homework Club until 4:45pm. Every child is welcome to join as many clubs as they wish.

Our programme evolves each term based on pupil feedback. Signing up is simple via our online form, and no sign-up is required for lunchtime clubs.

See below to find out what is on offer each half term for Extra-Curricular activities. Please be aware the timetable of activities may change each half term. 

To sign up to the clubs, you will need to register your interest through the SIMS Parent App and this will be updated on a half termly basis with the clubs listed for that half term. 

Half Term 1 

Monday

Breakfast Club (8:00 – 8:30)

Start the day right with a healthy breakfast. This club offers a variety of nutritious foods and drinks to energise Pupils for their school day. It’s also a great opportunity for socialising and preparing mentally for the day’s activities.

Lunch Time 1st Half (12:30 – 12:55)

Animal Club KS3  

This club is for Key Stage 3 Pupils interested in animals. Activities include learning about different species, caring for school pets, and engaging in discussions about animal behaviour and welfare. It’s a hands-on experience promoting empathy and responsibility.

Chess and Colouring  

This club provides a calm environment where pupils can engage in strategic chess games or express their creativity through colouring. It’s a perfect place to unwind and develop both cognitive and artistic skills.

Sports Leaders  

For Pupils who are passionate about sports and leadership. Participants will learn how to plan and lead sports activities, develop coaching skills, and gain experience in organising events. Ideal for those looking to enhance their leadership qualities and sportsmanship.

Lunch Time 2nd Half (12:55 – 1:20)  

Animal Club KS2  

Similar to the KS3 club but tailored for Key Stage 2 Pupils. This club offers interactive sessions where younger pupils can learn about and care for animals, helping to foster a love for wildlife and nature.

After School (3:45 – 4:45)  

Homework Club  

A supportive space where pupils can complete their homework after school, with access to resources and assistance from staff. This club helps pupils stay on top of their assignments and develop good study habits.

D&D Club  

Dive into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, a table top role-playing game that fosters creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Pupils will create characters, embark on adventures, and collaboratively tell stories in a fantasy setting.

Tuesday

KS3 Dodge Ball  

A high-energy club where Key Stage 3 Pupils can enjoy playing dodgeball. It’s a great way to stay active, improve coordination, and have fun with friends in a friendly competitive environment.

Lunch Time 2nd Half (12:55 – 1:20)  

KS2 Recorders  

Young musicians in Key Stage 2 can learn to play the recorder. This club focuses on basic music skills, reading sheet music, and playing simple melodies, providing a foundation for future musical endeavours.

Homework Club  

A supportive space where pupils can complete their homework at lunch time, with access to resources and assistance from staff. This club helps pupils stay on top of their assignments and develop good study habits.

After School (3:45 – 4:45)  

KS2 Multi Sports  

A club offering a variety of sports activities for Key Stage 2 Pupils. This program is designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship through fun and engaging games and exercises.

Dance 

The Tuesday Dance Club is a fun, energetic after-school activity for all skill levels. Pupils explore various dance styles, learn choreography, and improve their technique and coordination. The club fosters creativity, boosts confidence, and promotes fitness, with opportunities to perform in school events and showcases.

Wednesday

Steel Pans  

Pupils can learn to play steel pans in this music club. It offers a unique opportunity to explore Caribbean music, develop rhythmic skills, and perform as part of a group.

Eco Club 

A club for pupils interested in environmental issues. Members will engage in activities such as recycling projects, gardening, and promoting sustainability within the school and local community. It’s open to all year groups and runs throughout the year.

Thursday

Lunch Time 2nd Half (12:55 – 1:20)  

KS2 Choir  

Key Stage 2 Pupils can join this choir to develop their singing abilities. The club focuses on vocal techniques, harmony, and performance skills, culminating in school and community performances.

After School (3:45 – 4:45)

KS2/3 Mixed Band  

A music club for both Key Stage 2 and 3 Pupils, providing an opportunity to play instruments in a band setting. Pupils will learn to perform together, covering a variety of music genres and styles

KS2 Football  

A football club for Key Stage 2 Pupils, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and enjoying the game. It’s suitable for all skill levels and promotes a love for the sport.

Friday
