Please look after your uniform and make sure all items of clothing are clearly marked with your name. Aerosols must not be brought or used in school.
Equipment: All pupils should have a suitable bag and are expected to provide black pens, pencils and a ruler for every lesson. Without these items pupils are not ready to learn. Tippex and other correction fluids must not be used in school.
Every day, every child should bring a book to school to read for pleasure.
This should be fiction and fit in with the childs Accelerated Reader ZPD.
All pupils have a locker, which should be visited before registration, at break and lunch time. Bags should not be carried around school.
Religious head coverings: We ask that these are worn in colours that fith the school uniform policy e.g. of plain design and colour in black or green. We expect all pupils to respect those pupils who wear these.
Jewellery: The only jewellery permitted is a watch and one pair of plain stud earrings worn only in the lobe of the ear.
We do not permit pupils to wear: jewellery in body piercings, necklaces, bracelets or rings.
The school will not accept any responsibility for loss of jewellery; if the incorrect type/style of jewellery is worn, it will be confiscated and kept in the school office.
It may be collected at the end of the day after school. All jewellery must be removed for sporting activities.
Mobile phones: If you choose to bring a phone into school then:
Phones MUST be switched off and handed in at the beginning of the day. They will be returned at the end of the day. Anyone found with a mobile phone during the day will have it removed; you may collect it at the end of the day. The school will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any mobile phone. We adopted these procedures to prevent cyber bullying.
Hair: Long hair should be tied back at all times. Hair should be a natural colour. If students arrive at school with an unnatural hair colour or extreme style, they may be prevented from attending lessons and will lose break/lunchtimes. Please see the Pastoral Guidance Officer for advice BEFORE any changes are made.
